AbbVie SELECT-GCA Annotated Resource
AbbVie is a biotech company that specializes in pharmaceutical research and development. They have developed a series of annotated resource guides that are meant to make otherwise very complex cancer research and clinical trial data more digestible and accessible through the use of interesting visual elements, like graphs, charts, illustrated figures, tables, relevant icons, and colors.
I was given the opportunity to develop the template for, and fully design all digital annotated resources with guidance from the associate design director. I abided by AbbVie’s branding guidelines and replicated graphs, formatted content to ensure legibility, designed tables and graphs, created and sourced illustrations and icons, and made the piece fully interactive in Adobe InDesign.
There are five total annotated resources, each with about 70 pages of content. Below are select pages from the SELECT-GCA resource, a guide that explains the results of a phase 3 trial of the use of upadacitinib (RINVOQ) in patients with giant cell arteritis (GCA).

To use the piece, users select highlighted text and are presented with a pop-up screen that explains the related research.
