INNOVIVA COMMERCIAL TRAINING AND EXCELLENCE
Background: Innoviva is a pharmaceutical company established in 1996. This year, they developed a training program with the goal of coaching their employees and pharmaceutical representatives on their products and related medical information. Flywheel Partners design department was tasked with developing a logo for Innoviva’s training department, called Commercial Training and Excellence (CT&E)
Through collaboration with Kay Tsuji (Senior Design Director), I developed the logo for the CT&E training department.
Ask: We were tasked with researching and developing logos based around three important keywords: development, effectiveness, and performance. These three words can have very subjective meanings, so my first round of research and sketches focused on the feeling or “vibe” these keywords evoke.
Research: The first step in my process is to define the three keywords provided. This will allow me to better understand what direction the logo should go in.
Development: Something is being built and created through teamwork and collaboration.
Effectiveness: Things are balanced and everything is working together
Performance: We want to perform well, and there is upward mobility. Things are moving forward.
With Behance, Dribbble, and Pinterest, I began researching visuals. I was looking for icons with lots of motion and upward movement.
With the research in mind, I began rough sketching, and after the process of elimination we arrived at these select sketches:
Development: Our client was keen on the building blocks logo that revealed the arrow in the center of the shape. We began to expand on this concept, incorporating the client’s provided color scheme.
After a few rounds of feedback and collaboration with our client, we arrived at this finalized logo
Conclusion and thoughts: The feedback from from Flywheel Partners and Innoviva was overwhelmingly positive, and this was a wonderful experience. Collaborating with designed and our client was incredibly rewarding, as I got a lot of great advice and feedback from a wide array of perspectives.
